Mark your calendar! Our annual Give Till It Hurts Fundraiser is our flagship event, bringing the community together for an evening of fun, friendship, and giving. This is a crucial time when we collect essential funds through our popular live and silent auctions to sustain our mission for the year ahead.

For a decade, Give Till It Hurts has been the warm heart of the holiday season right here in Williamsburg, Iowa. What started in 2015 as a simple, heartfelt idea – to ensure every child in our community experiences the magic of Christmas – has grown into a powerful, grassroots movement built on local kindness and generosity.
We are a proud 501(c) charitable organization dedicated to keeping every single dollar raised right here at home, supporting our neighbors in Williamsburg and across the county.
I cannot thank all of the people that make this event happen enough! I have personally been able to see where the gifts and money goes at Mary Welsh! We are able to make sure all children have gifts at Christmas, but it goes so much farther than that. This event feeds families, provides shoes to children that need them, helps us purchase winter gear when it gets cold, we can get clothing for families in need, and I could go on and on. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!!!!!

Hunger Relief
The magic of the holidays – and a successful school year – starts with making sure every child has enough to eat. We know that many Iowa County families struggle with food insecurity, especially when school is out or during peak holiday expenses. That’s why we partner with vital community services like the Iowa County Food Bank to ensure our donations provide nutritious meals year-round.
How You Can Help:
- Organize a Food Drive: Coordinate a non-perishable food drive at your workplace, school, or neighborhood in support of our partner organizations.
- Financial Support: Designate your donation specifically for our Hunger Relief efforts, allowing us to purchase high-demand, high-quality food items for local families.
Volunteer
Our grassroots nonprofit is powered entirely by dedicated local volunteers. We are more than just an organization; we are neighbors working together to create a safety net for our community. Whether you can commit to a single day or a few hours a month, your time is invaluable to us.
How You Can Help:
- Event Support: Join us for our annual Give Till It Hurts event on December 12, 2025, helping with setup, auction tracking, or teardown at the Sundown Bar and Grill.
- Donation Management: Assist with sorting and organizing the Christmas gifts, warm coats, and school supplies we collect, ensuring they get into the hands of families quickly.
- Community Outreach: Help us place and collect donation boxes around Williamsburg and Iowa County during the holiday fundraising season.

Since 2015, every dollar we’ve raised – over $250,000 – has stayed right here in Iowa County. Your financial contribution is the engine that drives our ability to provide Christmas gifts, gift cards for essential needs, and school supplies directly to families identified by our trusted local schools (Amana, English Valleys, HLV, Iowa Valley, LIS, and Williamsburg).
